Rules and Regulations

Here in the Emerald City Bar, people toss back shots of tequila every single night.  They order rounds of jager bombs.  They throw darts.  Play pool.  Yell at the television.  Talk about their problems.  They certainly do not knit.  In a bar.  With yarn and needles.  Someone please tell me why Meredith Grey was in here the other night…  knitting?!

I mean, seriously – knitting?  Meredith is my girl and all, but she was totally freaking the other customers out with the whole knitting thing.  Man, I’m telling you, people just aren’t used to seeing something like that in a bar.  Fights, drunken sorority girls from U Dub and some old man in a corner about to keel over while clutching his Jim Beam – YES – those are the things you find in Emerald City.  But, knitting?  No way.  Not here.  I’m making that a new rule.

Even Derek and Addison were confused.  Now that they’re all happily-married-couple, they came in together, grabbed a table together, sat and watched Meredith play with her yarn…  together.  Lately, I hear Derek and Addison have been doing a lot of stuff… together, as a matter of fact.  The other night, they actually looked happy.  It was cute.  But, there was one thing that struck me as just a little bit strange…

When Addison went to the bathroom, Derek walked over to Meredith to make sure everything was okay (I think he was just trying to figure out what, in fact, Mer was trying to knit together – it wasn’t looking so good).  I swear, people, in that moment, I saw a glimmer in McDreamy’s eye…  It was a glimmer marked by just a touch of chemistry and yearning…  One that made me feel like, yep, hope is still alive for Mer and Der.  Then Addison returned and the glimmer disappeared.

Anyways, Derek and Addison soon left, leaving Mer alone… with her knitting.  She told me she was making a sweater.  Didn’t look like a sweater.  I’m curious to see how this project of hers turns out.

You know, I haven’t seen Izzie around in a really, really long time.  Ever since that dude Denny checked back into the hospital, Izzie’s been pretty much M.I.A.  I hear she’s spending ALL of her free time up there with Denny.  She’s really made a connection with that dude.  Hey, don’t doctors need to adhere to some unspoken rule about not getting too attached to their patients?  If they don’t, they probably should, right?

I’d really like to meet this Denny character, but something tells me that’s not gonna happen anytime soon.  Alex keeps telling me that’s never gonna happen, because, as he says, the dude is a total goner.  Man, Alex has been saying the worst things lately.  He’s been in here every night, breaking the bar rules by leaving crappy tips, shouting at other customers, taking women home, and just generally doing all of the evil spawn things that evil spawns do.  What is his deal??

Well, folks, I’ve got to get to work on a revised Emerald City Bar Rules sign.  Like I said, at the top of the list:  No knitting.  I just can’t take another night of perplexed faces and annoyed customers.  Just not good for business!  And, I promise that I won’t leave you hanging without another update for too long.  Until next time…

Joe, Thanks for the update. I can't believe people are actually rooting for Der and Addison to stay together. They aren't true fans. All I have to say, in the end Der and Mer love each other more than he loves his wife. True love has to win in the end, and even though Finn (the vet) is HOT, and it would be nice for Mer to have someone to play with while Der has someone to play with, I hope in the end Der and Mer come back together where they belong.

Alex has been an ass, but at least he was honest.

Issie and Denny are unbelievable. I wish Denny would get better, so Izzie can start doing him.

Mer is going through a really, really bad patch right now: McDreamy, George, her father, sisters she never met, a niece soon to be born... Cut her a little slack.
But, yea, knitting in the bar is a little odd. Even I don't knit at bars.

Thanks for Posting Joe! It definetly has caught me up on the DL at Seattle Grace. I'm really happy to see the Shepard's working things out even if in the long run it might not work. At least for now their working on it.

Meredith is starting to drive me crazy. I used to like her but lately these past few months she's seem a little self absorbed..Although I do wish her happiness Just not with McDreamy.

Poor George, He really has lost sense of himself though hasn't he? I mean if he's not really talking to Izzie, they used to be the inseperable friends! They had the George and Izzie connection but now it's broken.

Speaking of Izzie, I do feel bad for her. There really isn't a solution for Denny, at least not a quick one.

Alex, Poor guy. He's back to showing how much of a jackass he can. He's probably just putting the walls back up and trying not to show how much Izzie hurt him. I really do hope they have a run in though..

Thanks for the update!! Im kinda glad the Dr's Shephard are getting along now...just in time for Meredith to hook up with the dreamy vet! Meredith needs some time with a good man that isn't married!!

I think the Izzie and Denny thing is cute. You can't help who you fall for, ya know? I just hope that Denny doesn't die and leave Izzie heartbroken =(

Good to see you and your bar again. Let the poor girl knit, in public, where she is less likely to stab herself when she starts thinking and gets really depressed. Yeah, Izzie is wrong but she can't help that she is falling in love with dude, somethin is going to happen and soon the way they are going. actually it is kind of funny because seriously, there is a commercial that runs in seattle for a neighborhood bar and at the end their is a gal drinking a cosmo and knitting with a friend. trust me, seattle is very knitter friendly and it isn't unusual to knit in public.

Okay. Hopefully that "little spark" means the writers have been given their brains back. Seriously. I don't mean to be offensive, but HELLO!!? Derek and Addison may have been married, but why did he go back to her? Addison's character is just a bit of a constant bitch. Even when she's trying to be nice. Meredith rocks! And yeah, she's dysfunctional. But seriously, we all are. And darn it all, if Derek and Meredith don't get back together, I will be so angry.

i love addison shepherd for the classy elegant woman that she is, but seriously, seriously, she doesn't connect with derek as meredith did. remember code black? addison didn't understand the "feeling" that both derek and mer both had....

but anyway, the knitting thing? meredith is so scared to lose anything more.... i found it hilarious that she even bothered trying to knit, because meredith grey definitely is not a knitter.

there's no way Finn could ever replace Mcdreamy. and while she may sleep with different men and try to have relationships, deep down inside, Derek was the one, and she said it herself, she was right about him.

and gosh! i want more McSteamy. Addison's not told Derek the entire truth of her relationship with mcsteamy, and i have a feeling, that once Derek finds out, this pseudo-happy-marriage thing isn't gonna work out......

and hopefully, hopefully, we'll have Mer and Der again.

well safe to say mcdreamy might be with his wife but he is thinking of another woman (i for one would not like to be the wife).
plus would really love to know how derek trusts her now after she slept with his best mate (ouch double betrayal there).
But if i was mer would not let him think for a second he could come back and pick up where he left off the wuss that he is.
and just like lauren think he will get jealous of any man with mer who is not him its like he cant have her but he will be dammed if she is with anyone else.
