Ch-Ch-Changes
Hello there, Internet users! Joe the Bartender here – blogging to you live from the Emerald City Bar. It’s been a little while now, so allow me to bring you up to speed…
First things first: Being a dad is awesome. Walter and I have never been through such an amazing, extraordinary experience like this. The twins are doing great. So they’re a little colicky – big deal. So I can’t really sleep at home anymore – who cares. So I often nap in the bar’s backroom on a bed made out of cardboard boxes and foam – so what! The joys of fatherhood – what can I say? …I’m …adjusting.
Anyways. Aside from the fact that I am now the proud papa of two – count ‘em TWO – living, breathing, adorable, cute, cuddly BABIES… Things are – different – around here.
Summer vacations have ended. There’s a whole new crop of interns starting to invade the bar every night. Brides are no longer brides, doctors have come and gone, sisters have come and – seem to be staying… I’m telling you – it’s a whole new world around here.
Remember when – right here on this very blog – I told you about a perky, cute, little thing that came into the bar and was ALL OVER McDreamy? Okay, maybe she wasn’t ALL OVER McDreamy, but there was some definite flirtation goin’ on. Anyway, the other night, that same girl came into the bar yet again. This time, when I carded her, I paid attention. It turned out her name was Lexie Grey.
Okay. Lexie Grey. “Grey.” Pretty common last name, so I didn’t think much of it. Soon, however, this Lexie chick started asking me all kinds of questions about Meredith Grey… Do I know Meredith? For how long? What’s she like? Is she nice?
That’s when I put two and two together and realized that this perky, cute, little thing was MEREDITH GREY’S SISTER.
I was shocked. I didn’t really know what to say to her. Rather, I didn’t really know what Meredith would want me to say to her. So, out of loyalty to Meredith, I acted really busy and kinda ignored Lexie. And as of this very moment, I have no idea whether Meredith knows that her sister is starting work at Seattle Grace. But, I have a feeling I’ll find out soon enough…
Just between you and me, though… Lexie seems like a total sweetheart. She couldn’t have been nicer, really. I felt bad I had to give her the cold shoulder. She just kept asking about Meredith and I didn’t know what info to divulge. Girlfriend has some major issues, but then again, what Grey doesn’t?
Well, amidst all of the changes around here, at least one thing seems to be staying the same: Alex Karev. He’s in the bar right now, as a matter of fact. He told me some sad news: Addison has left the building, folks.
I love Addison. I’m a self-proclaimed Addison-freak. She was good for Seattle Grace and she was good for my bar. I could always count on Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery to make me smile at the end of a long day. It seems that she’s left for sunny Los Angeles. Good for her – I actually admire people who embrace change. I am going to miss her, though.
Alex didn’t say much else about Addison. He did however, tell me that Cristina seems to be holding up fine after being left at the altar and George seems to be holding up fine after his second first day as an intern. Oh, and Izzie’s fine after operating on a deer.
So, everybody’s fine? It sounds that way, but I know from experience that’s usually not the case around here… Only time will tell, I guess. You know, I haven’t heard much about Meredith and Derek lately. Which is good, right? No news is good news. Hopefully, they’re holding up fine, too.
Well, I better get back to doing what I do best. Some first-year interns just arrived – and they look like they’re in desperate need of my mixology services. No change there, either.
Thanks for staying with me and coming back to check out my little blog. Until next time…
