Smackdown!

Tonight began like any other night.  Everything was running smoothly.  The drinks were flowing.  The jukebox was blaring.  A few interns were playing darts in the corner.  Some frat boys from U-Dub were taking shots at the bar.  Callie was telling me about Izzie Stevens sleeping with her husband.  A couple nurses were crowding around the pool table.  Just another normal night, ya know?

Oh, what’s that?  You want me to back up?  Back to the frat boys and their Jagermeister?  Ohhhh, the whole Izzie sleeping with George thing.  Oh, that.  Yeah, there was…  that, too

When Callie came in, I was thrilled to see her.  Ever since she became Chief Resident, I haven’t been able to chat with her all that much.  Being Chief Resident is no walk in the park, I’ll tell you that.  Callie looked exhausted.  I could tell that she had a lot on her mind.  That, folks, was the understatement of the year…

I set a beer down in front of her and told her it was on the house.  That’s when Callie looked up and told me – straight up – George slept with Izzie.  She then proceeded to pound her drink as I just stood there, behind the bar, speechless.  I didn’t know what to say.  I mean, I wanted to say something – anything, really – but I couldn’t seem to form any words.  Callie must’ve noticed my shock and utter amazement, because she left just about as fast as she came in.

And, that was that.  Yeah, sooo…  What’s everybody gonna be for Halloween??!!

Okay, if it sounds like I’m saying this whole Izzie/George thing is no big deal, it’s because I’m trying to convince myself this whole Izzie/George thing is no big deal.  I’ve been trying for the past three hours.  It’s not working.  No matter how much I hope and pray that this whole Izzie/George thing is just some bizarre mix-up, some way-too-vivid dream, some casual mistake, I know the truth of the matter.  Yes, this whole Izzie/George thing is a big deal.  It’s a very big deal.

Izzie and George.  Izzie and George?!  Is this a Meredith Grey, one-night-stand sorta thing?  Or is this more of a “I found my soul mate, so what if he’s married, we’re gonna make it work” kinda thing?  I, for one, would like to know.  And then I’d like to sit George O’Malley down and have a long talk with him.  What does George have to say for himself?  And, how in the world is Callie dealing with all of this?  First, Chief Resident and now her cheating husband?  Man, the future doesn’t look so bright for either of them.

After Callie left and I had time to decompress, the events I heard about over at the hospital during the day made complete sense.  You see, there was a rumor going around Seattle Grace about Callie wanting to kick Izzie Stevens’ ass at lunchtime in the cafeteria.  That’s right, SGH was about to go all WWE today.  “The smackdown of the century.”  Nobody knew what all that ruckus was about.  But, something tells me that everybody is about to find out…

Now, normally, I’d be able to sit here and blog about Meredith and Derek not having too great of a day.  I’d be able to tell you how I heard Derek was officially impressed with Lexie.  How Meredith got (understandably) annoyed about Derek and Lexie’s bonding sessions.  And, how Derek cancelled his weekend plans with Meredith, leaving her… confounded, to say the least.

But I won’t go into detail about all of that.  I can’t.  Why?  Because images of a scantily clad Izzie and a way-too-drunk George currently cloud my mind.  It’s all I can think about.  Okay, happy things, happy, happy things…  Ponies.  Rainbows.  Ice cream.  Not helping…

It’s too much, really.  It’s just…  too…  much

You're a funny guy Joe!

Hahaha... ponies as happy things for Joe?!?! I always love reading these!

Thanks for confirming that Derek had cancelled the weekend. I wasn't 100% sure from the scene.

You are funny Joe, now you are making me remember george and Izzie,s very hot hot night, hope we get more of those soon, without the alcohol of course and without the wife.

I feel bad for Callie, I really do, but will you think me an awful person if I say I still want george and Izzie together. What they have is a big deal, the real deal in fact, and that is something worth fighting for no matter what.

Ah George and Izzie, I cannot help but love them, wish they had happened differently but hey sometimes timing sucks, and you realize you are in love too late. I am hopping thyey can make it through together because let,s face it Joe, Callie and george together is wrong, which is why she had to get him to elope when he was not in his normal mind.

When will we see you again?

Joe, I love you and I miss you on the show.

We might have to agree to disagree on george and Callie and George and Izzie, because Izzie and George to me are the perfect couple, he and Callie never fit. That is why divorces exist, to fix the marriages that were a mistake. And a quicking wedding with a grieving guy out of his mind, never going to work.

I want George and izzie to get together the right way, and when you see how much in love they really are, I hope you change your mind on the,

I love george and Izzie, just wish george had told Callie he loved Izzie.

Joe! I was counting on you to talk about ALEX! The writers always leave him out of the blog!

*sigh* It was kind of too much for me right now. This episode was really painful, but still amazing. I miss seeing the bar!

Joe, you, like most of the others, don't really know the whole story. George and Izzie are...complicated. But it is love. I think even they deserve to be happy!

Joe, I love you, but boy are you wrong about George and Callie, they are so wrong for each other. George an Izzie on the other hand, they fit together perfectly! Best couple this show has ever created!

I HATE Alex, and I LOVE George, so two weeks in a row I want to kill him now. Izzie is in love with George, not you, you big loser, and George and Izzie make a million times a better couple than Alx and Izzie and Callie and George ever did.

Ah Joe how I love you. Specially cause you mentioned my lovely Udub. Sure it was the frat boys but at least you know my huskies. Next time the bar is in a scene I'm going to look for the purple and gold, all the real bars around here display it. My comment on the drama though.

I think that compairing Izzie and Meredith's experience isn't fair. I think it's safe to say that Meredith didn't just end up with a one night stand, she in fact did find her soul mate (who she will eventually end up with). Izzie, well Izzie is twisty and dark and hasn't admitted it yet. I hope she gets there because right now to me Izzie is quickly taking Meredith's place as the resident to be worried about. I'd be fine with that as long as the writers let Meredith finally grow a little people. Just a little, it's all I ask. Oh and that the huskies beat the cougars in the Apple Cup. It's all I ask.

It's always amusing to hear your take on the Seattle Grace doings. Thanks for your insights.

Also, what's up with the twins? Do you have them? What is going on there?

Ask Shonda if it can be worked in. :-)

George and Izzie, EWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

Hey Joe, you know everything that's going on. Maybe you can tell us what happened to Lexi's baby, you know the one that Mer's half sister gave birth to in the hospital in season two? You'd think that Lexi might actually mention her kid.

Wtf...George and Izzie are meant to be..I`ve been waiting for it since season 1...
They better not ruin it
Gizzie O`Stevens Rocks - 33

Joe, I completely agree with you 100% about George and Callie. They should be together, and the night that I saw that Izzie and George hook up was all wrong. I thought she was too depressed about Denny?; and could no longer find love because of him. yeah i admit that maybe George and Callie getting married too quick was a mistake, but hey, i remember them having tons of fun together, specially the nights alone in the basement of the hospital. those two are good for each other, Callie is always there for him, and she's hot, so George just needs to man up and be there for her. It's not hard when you have a good girl by your side, and besids, who said marrige was easy, if it was everyone would be married till their fiftieth wedding aniversary, to the same person.

I totally think that george and izzie should be together. they are perfect for each other i agree with lindiz1. i've been hoping since season one that they would get together. callie had to get george to elope, and he was having second thoughts. is that love? i don't think so.

ps: love you joe!!!!

God, the Gizzie haters are so immature, grow up, you make yourselves look like 5-years old.

I for one am mature enough to be able to see the ebauty that is George and Izzie,s love story. They shared every kind of love and now they have finally fell in love and it is something beautiful to watch.

Joe, I am disappointed in you that you seem to have the same immature mentality as that of the haters. Can't you see how real what George and Izzie have is?

Oh please if Izzie was on the rebound, she'd have slept with Alex but she rejected him. Hello even Callie knew Izzie had a thing with George, anyone with two eyes could see she had more than friendship for him since season 2, I think even Denny suspected she had some feelings for George when she kept going on about him all the time.

George and Izzie are the best couple and you better not be dropping them or you are going to have very angry fans to deal with

I agree with you Joe. George is the one who proposed. I do not recall Callie "making" George elope. I also think that what Izzie and George did was immature and wrong. When you make that kind of commitment to someone, it is supposed to be sacret. I think George knows how bad he hurt Callie and I think they will and should try to make it work. As for the posting about Mere growing up a little - 100% true, that is if she wants to keep McDreamy!

Joe, can you pass onto
Sammi (previous post) that it wasn't Lexi that had a baby in season two, it was Lexi's sister.

I'm sorry, but I CANNOT stand izzie and george. I mean they're best friends and everything, BUT NOT a couple, that kinda makes me sick.
Though I need to confess callie & george was also a fault.

Joe wheres MER and DER theylove each other and they juust can't show commitment
