Sweet Dreams
Okay, for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been having really, really bad dreams. Nightmares, actually. A few days ago, I jumped out of bed thinking there were spiders all over me. The night before that, I dreamt that the bar was shut down due to some weird health code violation. And, just last night, I dreamed about Meredith – all happy and whole, cheerfully packing up Derek’s things, merrily humming a joyous tune as she worked, heartily laughing about the wonderful little life she was about to make with her McDreamy. I’m telling you, NIGHTMARES!
Walter says it’s because I’m eating too much sugar. But, I disagree. I think there’s a much more sinister, much more startling source of my frequent nightmares: reality.
It’s true. I’ve been catching spiders like crazy lately. The health inspector paid me a visit last Tuesday. And Meredith and Derek are actually, totally and completely MOVING IN TOGETHER. It’s all happening. It’s all real. It’s all making it very difficult for me to sleep at night.
Spiders are scary. Health inspectors are even scarier. And, well, Meredith and Derek moving in together? Now, that, my friends, is ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING!
Am I being a pessimist? …So?
Hey, I want the Mer-Der to get their happy ending. I want Meredith to get over her commitment issues, her daddy issues, her mommy issues, her abandonment issues, her—okay, ALL of her issues… And I want Derek to get his act together, too. His mixed signal issues, his pride issues, his Nurse Rose issues… Yes, Derek has issues, too, I know.
The million dollar question is: Are Meredith and Derek both ready for this? Has therapy really helped my girl Mer? I hope so! Has Derek really gotten rid of that creepy Fatal Attraction Nurse Rose chick? Something tells me, yes. Is Meredith really going to kick Derek out of her house every time a patient talks about chipping pieces of yourself away in order to have a real, lasting relationship? I honestly don’t know.
I truly hope Meredith and Derek’s decision isn’t a mistake. I hope they can make this work. But, until I know for sure, I don’t think I’ll be getting much sleep…
Until next time…
-Joe the Bartender

I really hope your theories are right because I cant take another season of this, we the viewers dont deserve anything less neither do the the hard working Patrick and Ellen!

Goodness sakes. Why does Shonda insist on doing this to the two most lovely actors on this show and the characters they play? Is this blog to make fans worry or is it just to drive them away from these two characters we have loved from the start. The nightmare is not Mer/Der, the nightmare is Shonda playing her fans like this and then letting blogs like this go up to worry them more rather than just use her God given talents and write a well written love story for two of the most lovely actors on this show. Please Shonda, stop playing the fans with this already. Your legacy of this show will surround what you are doing to your two lead characters now.

If/When Mer & Der do decide to move in together, they should move into a neutral territory--not her house, not his 'house' (aka trailer)...but somewhere they can start anew, new memories.
I wonder if Psycho-Rose is really over Der breaking up with her? She could really wreck his career if she WANTED to!! What's that quote... "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" ?! Der sure labeled Psycho-Rose correctly by mentioning the 'Fatal attraction' angle! YIKES!!
Oh, and I'm dealing with ANTS in my house...I think I'd rather have spiders than ants, IMHO!! Wanna trade?! ;-)

Joe,
I'm so glad that you are back. You always give such interesting insight or whatever. I'm so happy that Mer and Der are together and hopefully they can be happy for awhile. Lets see some funny fun stuff as they figure out how to live together and get away a bit from the dark and twisty. It will be fun to see them laugh and play and I truly hope that is what they end up doing.
Give Lexie a round at the bar next time she comes in. Poor girl is getting to be like her big sis. Going to get all dark and twisty with her loving George and him being totally oblivious to the fact. I like the kid, hopefully good things will happen for her.
I'd love to see McSteamy get some good lovin and attention this season. Wouldn't it be great to see him fall for a lady and have all those sexy scenes? Ohhh having hot flashes just thinking about it.
Hopefully Izzy will find someone outside the hospital. I don't like her and George together and I can't stand Alex and his past drama that he doesn't talk about.
Christina and Army Doc are just so hot. It's good to see the spark back in Christina's eyes. Love love love it.
Callie and Erica can have eachother, see where it goes.
Take care and keep us all posted. Let us know any juicy details you here,

I hope they (M/D) can make it work, too! Please, let it happen!

Please keep us posted on Alex and Izzie. I love them together! :)

I agree with previous blogger concerning Mer and Der!!! They should totally be together, and not some weird dark rollercoaster. It'll be good to have that strong couple that everyone goes to advice for or whatever. I hope the Erica an Callie thing happens. So hott!!!

While I think it was a great epi. I miss seeing Joe, Walter and knowing what happened with the twins and the surrogate mother?!
This blog is a little scary, but I have faith in my MerDer or more specifically Patrick and Ellen that at the end of the day the fans precious MerDer is more or less in their hands. I don't quite get what's so scary about MerDer and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of them; and as for all these rumours about more cast members: I hope Shonda can handle it b/c our faves need their characters and storylines shown. Hope to see more of you Joe! By the way, I loved seeing the trailer in the epi. I think the Grey's we know and love is back and I'm just waiting for a few little things to be resolved before I get completely into the new stories.

BRING JOE BACK ON THE SHOW!
Posted by: Stefan | September 26, 2008 at 10:51 PM
I believe Meredith and Derek will make it together, and have fun getting there. I can just imagine them building a house together, now that's conflict.
Rose is a thing of the past.
If Cristina is having a love interest, I hopw we have no more moaning about Dr Hahn, now that's boring.
Joe, when will we see you agains, how is Walter and the twins?

Hey Joe! I hope we get to see you soon! I really do miss you and The Emerald City Bar!

Hey Joe,
What's up with the spiders? Are you keeping any untold secrets, hence "spider webs in your closet".
Well, I would love to see Mer/Der back together and happy, but you know we gonna see some DRAMA - it would be a great twist to see more of Psycho Rose....just to keep it interesting. Just think if it's Psycho Rose causing the problem, this time it would not be Mer or Der "issues".

Hey Joe,
You actually going to be shown on the show soon??
Posted by: Brandy | October 01, 2008 at 05:33 PM
THEY CAN DO IT! derek moving in is a great idea and i think mer is finally putting her issues aside!finally.
Posted by: I love merder | October 03, 2008 at 06:50 AM
Well, it's the same old thing over and over with MerDer. I guess it's time to move on. I have a feeling that Rose isn't exactly finished yet either. She might be back. Just a feeling.

Mer and Derek will work out!!!
I believe, I believe.
Mer needs to have her roomates move out or Derek and her need to move to their own apartment until their home is built. They need their privacy. Who needs to live in a fish bowl in and out of work.
Mer should continue to see her doctor, because that would be extremely helpful in her relationship with Derek. Besides she is paying the doctor to listen to her so she could tell her everything that Christina does not want to hear.
I so hope that we have seen the last of Rose; I do not particular care for the Hahn and Callie relationship because I do not like the Hahn character.
